Many sellers reported that they received relevant email notifications, and because the products could not provide the UL test report within the specified time, there were problems such as suspension of sales and listing being removed from the shelves.

The difference between UL certification and UL test report

UL certification: voluntary certification, which needs to test products and audit factories, and audits are conducted once a quarter. The cost is high, the time is long, and the audit factory is very strict.

UL test report: According to the product selection of the corresponding UL standard for testing, a qualified test report will be issued. The cost is low, the cycle is short, and no factory audit is required. Can be used for Amazon review, customs clearance is invalid.

4. Required information

1. A copy of the business license of the company information sheet (for customers applying for UL for the first time).

2. Product description: product name, product model, etc.

3. Parts table: provide the name and model, rated value, and manufacturer information of product parts. If the component has obtained UL certification, please indicate the UL file number of the component. If there are multiple suppliers for a certain component, they can be provided together.

4. Performance and specifications: such as size, rated voltage, current, frequency and power, etc.

5. Structural drawing or exploded drawing: For the structural drawing of the product, please indicate the name of each part in the drawing so that it can correspond to the parts list one by one.

6. Circuit schematic diagram Please provide the electrical schematic diagram: PCB schematic diagram PCB LAYOUT.

7. Photos of the product, instructions for use, safety precautions or installation instructions, etc.

5. Certification process

1. The applicant submits an application.

2. The applicant fills in the application form and provides instructions and technical documents.

3. Determine the test standards and test items and quote.

4. The applicant confirms the quotation, submits samples and relevant technical documents.

5. Send a charging notice to the applicant, and the applicant pays the certification fee according to the charging notice.

6. Arrange products for testing.

7. If the test fails, notify the applicant and allow the applicant to improve the product.

So, until the test is passed. The applicant should modify the technical information in the original application to reflect the actual situation after the modification.

8. Provide the applicant with a UL test report after passing the test.

6. Certification cycle and validity period

The UL test report cycle is 5-7 working days.

If the US UL test standard used is not updated, the UL test report is valid for a long time.
