IC is the abbreviation of Industry Canada of the Canadian Ministry of Industry. Since 2016, it has officially changed its name to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), which is responsible for the certification of electronic and electrical products entering the Canadian market. ICES certification is a passport for electronic and electrical products to enter the Canadian market. Products within the scope of certification must pass the certification before they can enter the Canadian market for sale. Similar to the FCC in the United States, ISED certification currently only limits electromagnetic interference.
