1. Introduction to Certification

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) refer to a class of organic compounds with two or more benzene rings. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are hydrocarbons containing more than two benzene rings in their molecules, including more than 150 compounds such as naphthalene, anthracene, phenanthrene, and pyrene. The full name is also known as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Among them, 15 kinds belong to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Because benzo-a-pyrene is the first environmental chemical carcinogen discovered, and its carcinogenicity is very strong, benzo(a)-pyrene is often used as the representative of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which accounts for all carcinogenic substances. Sexual polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons 1%-20%.

5. Certification Requirements

PAHs test limit requirements:

1. Materials that may be put into the mouth, and toys for children under 3 years old: Bap<0.2ppm, total amount<0.2ppm

2. Materials that may cause long-term skin contact (contact time exceeds 30 seconds), toys not covered by category 1 regulations: Bap<1ppm, total amount<10ppm

3. Materials that may cause short-term skin contact (contact time not exceeding 30 seconds) or materials that do not cause contact Bap<20ppm, total amount<100ppm

The requirements of PAHs are required in Germany GS and REACH Annex 17 of the European Union, and the requirements are different. GS tests 15 items while REACH Annex 17 tests 8 items. Therefore, it is necessary to confirm the test requirements before testing.

6. Test items

The main eighteen kinds of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are: naphthalene, acenaphthylene, acenaphthene, fluorene, phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthene, pyrene, benzo(a) anthracene, chrysene, benzo(b) fluoranthene, benzene And(k)fluoranthene, benzo(a)pyrene, indeno(1,2,3-cd)pyrene, dibenzo(a,h)anthracene and benzo(g,h,i)perylene, 1- Methyl naphthalene, 2-methyl naphthalene.
